Role overview. We are looking for an accomplished WordPress Engineer to build and maintain high-quality and functional websites for our clients. You will focus on back-end development including
the building of WordPress admin, plugins, site integration, and security updates.

To ensure success as a WordPress Engineer, you’ll have in-depth knowledge of PHP, WordPress, and experience with Headless CMS and GraphQL. Reporting to a Tech Manager, you will create functional, user-friendly back-ends and
collaborate with front-end developers to perfectly meet the client’s expectations.

As a Beyond WordPress Engineer, you’ll have the chance to:

Co-create and work with different team members across projects and the studio to ensure quality is embedded at both the process and programme levels
Design and manage the back-end of websites including database and server
integration

Create the website architecture
Implement security updates for PHP back-ends
Create and update schemas in WordPress
Conduct website performance tests
Troubleshoot content issues
Monitor the performance
of live websites
Leverage your soft skills in collaboration, communication, and client relationship management
As a Beyond WordPress Engineer, we’d look for you to be able to bring:

Previous experience as a full stack engineer, developer, or systems architect, in the context of software design, development, and delivery.
Significant experience working with WordPress
GraphQL API experience. (mandatory)
Headless
CMS experience. (mandatory)
Exposure to standard development practices, architecture standards, and general experience in the delivery of an end-to-end product, service, or solution
Grasp of security principles and
how they apply to web applications
Experience with build tools
Object-Oriented, Functional, and Test-Driven Development
Experience developing products that leverage API integrations
